Community Lifeline currently operates in a two-story, approximately 7,000 sq.ft former Masonic temple originally dedicated in 1925 and located at 218 North Third Street in Shelton, Washington. The building occupies a 12,000 sq.ft lot on the northwest corner of North Third Street and West Cedar Street. Community Lifeline acquired the property in 2016 from St. David of Wales Parish who acquired the property from the Mt. Moriah Lodge in 1991. The site has provided shelter and services to individuals experiencing homelessness since 1992.
We recently remodeled both our women’s and men’s dorms to provide more comfort and safety for our guests.
Check out the pictures below to see the transformation of our men’s dorm!
Men’s Dorm Remodel
Before
Prior to the remodel, the men’s dorm had several bunk style beds arranged on old carpet that had multiple stains. The beds and carpet were a ripe environment for bed bugs and an issue we were devoted to erradicate.
The Work
Volunteers from Gethsemane Ministries and shelter staff worked all day to rip out old carpet, disassemble wooden bunk beds, sand the original hard wood flooring and construct newly purchased cots.
After
After a long day and a lot of work, the new men’s dorm is cleaner, has cots that are more comfortable and the bed bug issue that was present previously has been addressed.
